I-Dome.net / 3940 Series Camera

The i-dome.net now supports (optionally) the National Transportation Communications for ITS Protocol for Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Camera Control.

This makes the i-dome.net a fully interoperable and interchangeable video appliance by implementing only non-proprietary, defined standards-based video encoding, streaming and camera control protocols, transported over standard Ethernet infrastructures.

Cohu's 3940 has become the new standard in high performance CCTV cameras, and with the addition of progressive new features, offers even more value and imaging advantages. This integrated IP dome provides what you can always expect from Cohu Electronics: quality, affordability, and style.

DAY/NIGHT CAMERA TECHNOLOGY
Automatic Day/Night switching technology assures vivid color images during daylight, and high sensitivity monochrome images after dark. This greatly extends the nighttime or low-light capability of the camera.

EXTENDED ZOOM RANGE
The 3940 features a 35x optical zoom range (3.4 mm to 119 mm), with selectable automatic or manual focus. With its high resolution (540 HTVL) the camera is ready to produce clear images of just about anything within its field of view.

BANDWIDTH EFFICIENCY
Standards based MPEG4 encoding provides the best quality video with the most efficient bandwidth utilization. The user settings (data mode, frame rate, and resolution) further allow the operator to achieve maximum video streaming within the network environment.

FAST POSITIONING
A high-speed (250°/sec. max.) dome drive, with up to 0.1° accuracy, provides 360° continuous rotation and up to 64 user-defined preset positions.

IMAGE STABILIZATION
The two modes of stabilization settings allow a wide range of vibration compensation. In addition to the clear image, this option also allows the system designer to specify lighter and less-rigid poles, or utilize existing bridge signs and traffic lights.

TOURING, SECTOR IDs, PRIVACY ZONES
Up to eight tours, each with up to 32 preset positions and dwell time, can be stored in memory. Set up to sixteen sectors in a horizontal plane, each with its own identification title. Eight programmable privacy zones can be set to prevent the viewing of selected scenes.

BUILT FOR THE NOT-SO-GREAT OUTDOORS
The 3940 enclosure system provides a small profile installation that creates very low wind loading. The 3920 Series has been tested to withstand 120 mph (193 km/h) winds with a 20% gust factor with no damage to camera system. Rated at IP67 and NEMA 4X, and additionally meets NEMA TS2 standards for power variance, transients and shock/vibration environments.
